Imagine how many people live in New York City.  This is the same number of children in Andhra Pradesh in East India forced to work as slaves with long hours and barely enough bread and water to survive.  An organization called Mercy29 India purchased the freedom for more than 600 kids in Andhra Pradesh, and provides them with food, water, shelter, clothes, medical care and an education through their orphanage.  .

She told me that food is scarce in India, and there are so many children to feed and one buffalo can make a significant impact by providing on going nutrition.  Every day a healthy buffalo produces vitamin-rich milk, which is a crucial part of a child's healthy diet.  Imagine previously enslaved and malnourished children growing up into healthy and responsible adults.

I am excited that a portion of all our profits in 2011 will help provide buffalo to produce milk for kids at the Mercy29 India orphanage.
